View Video Tribute View Funeral WebcastMr. William Thomas Reed, 87, longtime resident of Ashwood Road, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Joiner, Rev. Arch Warren and Rev. Donald Wahlman officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Hampshire he was the son of the late Oscar Reed and Inez Johnson Reed. He attended Haylong High School and served in the Tennessee National Guard. Mr. Reed was a lifelong farmer and had also been employed by Maury Farmers' Co-op. He was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church. Survivors include several cousins and special friends, Jack and Phyllis Smith of Columbia. The Elders and Deacons of Zion Presbyterian Church will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Phil Lindsey, former Elders and Deacons of Zion Presbyterian Church, and past and present employees of Maury Farmers' Co-op.
