View Funeral Webcast William Stanley "Billy" Sanders, Jr., 57, retired from American Bank Note, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at his residence on Evergreen Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Pastor Allen Scroggs officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to oakesandnichols.com. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, served as a Maury County constable for two terms, and as a volunteer for the Maury Rural Fire & Rescue Squad for several years. Mr. Sanders was a well-known and respected musician in Middle Tennessee and was a drummer for the Maury County Community Band. Survivors include his wife, Cathrine Louise Skelton "Cathy" Sanders, whom he married July 12, 1974; his mother, Geraldine Allen Sanders of Columbia; brother, Michael A. (Paula) Sanders of Columbia; nephew, William Paul Sanders of Columbia; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, William S. Sanders, Sr. Active pallbearers are Terry Potts, Flamonte Roberts, Neil Goodman, Marvin Cox. Honorary pallbearers include Maury County Community Band members, employees of American Bank Note, and Maury Rural Fire & Rescue Squad.
