View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Willie E. Peeler Johnson,86, retired secretary and assistant manager of the Printing Department for the United Methodist Board of Discipleship, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at her residence in Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Gary Wedgewood officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Nebo Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Hillsboro United Methodist Church, 5313 Old Highway 96, Franklin 37064. She attended Maury County schools and Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville. Mrs. Johnson was a long-time member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church and did volunteer work at Grace Works in Franklin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Woodrow Wilson Johnson in 1987 and a twin sister, Ocie Lee Peeler Johns in 2004. Survivors include foster sons, Robert Lee Anderson of Spartanburg, South Carolina and William Roy Anderson of White House; foster-grandchildren, Stacy Anderson, Michael Anderson, Jennifer Bradley, and Jeffrey Cochran; nieces, Flora (Nathan) McKennon of Cross Bridges, Nora (Bobby) Cecil of Columbia, and Brenda (Steve) Menees of Huntsville, Alabama; nephew, J. C. (Glenda) Williams of Columbia; seven foster-great-grandchildren; one foster-great-great-grandchild, two great-nieces and 5 great-nephews. Active pallbearers are Stacy Anderson, Michael Anderson, J. C. Williams, Steven H. Menees, Timothy Menees, and Tyler Menees. Honorary pallbearers include Rev. Tom Herring, Dr. Kenneth Dodge, Greg Smith, Martha Hopkins, and Marty Hopkins.
