Wilma Franklin Eubank, 88, retired from First Farmers & Merchants Bank, died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at her residence on Walnut Lane. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Vasser, Rev. Ron Brown, and Rev. Rush Harrison officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols and after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorials to Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, 2712 Trotwood Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of condolence may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Pontotoc, Mississppi, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Elzie Franklin and Lola Elizabeth Tutor Franklin and was a 1945 graduate of Pontotoc High School. She married Louis Eubank, Jr. October 8, 1947. Their 66-year marriage ended with his death November 29, 2013, When they moved to Columbia in 1948, she began work with Commerce Union Bank. After her children were born, she spent time in the home and loved handwork, especially chrocheting and quilting. Later, she joined the staff at First Farmers & Merchants Bank and served as credit clerk from 1980 until her retirement in 1995. Mrs. Eubank was a charter member and active in the affairs of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. A devoted member, she taught several Sunday School Classes and was a member of the Grace Sunday School Class. She dearly loved her family and is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Danny) Shouse of Columbia and Linda (J.J.) Oakley of Culleoka; grandchildren, Christina Grace Oakley and Michael Roland Oakley, of Culleoka; sister, Falba Selby of Pontotoc, Mississippi; nieces, Beverly (Bill) Taylor of Savannah, Tennessee and Sandra (Carney) Walden of Pontotoc, Mississippi; several great-nieces and great-nephews. The family wishes to express appreciation to her devoted care-givers, Jennifer Barrier, Wanda Konig, Claudette Mutter, Margaret Perkins, and Leslie Vick for their constant care and love during her illness. Active pallbearers are David Byers, Charles Tisher, Arch Warren, Bobby Chance, Joel Rainey, Pete Coggin, Rick Jenkins, Lonnie Roberts, and Robin Langley. Honorary pallbearers include active and inactive Deacons of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.
