View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Wilma Grace Harris Hayes, 83, resident of Martin Hollow Road in Culleoka, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 12:00 noon at Oakes & Nichols with Corey Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Culleoka Alumni Scholarship Association, c/o Vickie Beaver, 2523 Mooresville Pike, Culleoka, TN 38451. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Bruce Tyler Harris and Bessie Lola Wiser Harris. She was a graduate of Culleoka High School. On April 5, 1948 she married Andrew Jackson "Jack" Hayes who preceded her in death on June 12, 2011. Mrs. Hayes was a teacher's aid in the Maury County School System before beginning work as a seamstress at Weather Tamer and Publix Shirt Company. She and her husband loved to travel and her primary concern in life was taking care of her husband and family. Mrs. Hayes was a member of Campbell Station Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Steve) Luna, Susan Brown both of Culleoka and Vicki (Dean) Pickinpaugh of Columbia; son, Dennis (Sarah) Hayes of Columbia; grandchildren, Andy Luna, Stephanie Wortham, Harold Brown all of Culleoka, John (Nicki) Luna, Chase (Stacey) Brown, Martha Ruth Hayes, Elizabeth McMeen, all of Columbia, Jennifer (Mike) Goldman of Pulaski, Kristin (Chris) Clark of Santa Fe, Sarah Beth (Jim) Gill of Greenville, South Carolina, Rachel (Andrew) Greer of Mississippi; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ewell B. and Imogene Harris. Active pallbearers will be Harold Brown, Chase Brown, Christopher Wortham, John Luna, Jason Luna and Mike Goldman. Honorary pallbearers include Andy Luna and special caregivers, Martha and Porter Black and Peggy Sullivan.
