Wilma Howell Luttrell

View Video Tribute Wilma Howell Luttrell, 93, widow of William B. Luttrell and former long-time resident of Columbia, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at NHC Hendersonville. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 12:00 Noon at Oakes & Nichols with Adam Pogue and Andrew Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and after 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. She was a long-time member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters, Sue L. Bates of Columbia and Carolyn (Theron) Park of Hendersonville; sisters, Jean Chumley of White House and Joyce Dawson of Columbia; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, "Cassie." She was preceded in death by sisters, Doris Warf, Lillie Underwood, and Martha Brown; brothers, Mahlon Howell, Johnny Howell; son-in-law, William G. Bates. Active pallbearers include Bobby Fox, Lester Crane, Richard Derryberry, Lee Nicholson, Clifton Kelley, Harvey Nicholson, Henry Warf, and Larry Yeager. Honorary pallbearers are the congregations of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, New Hope Road Church of Christ; special friends, Linda and Bill Hambek, and Faye Carter.
