Mary Pate Inman

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Pate Inman, 81, retired office secretary at Central High School and resident of Seventh Avenue, died Friday, September 17, 2010 at Williamson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Art Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Riverside United Methodist Church in memory of Anita Inman, 313 Sixth Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Ernest Pate and Avy Davidson Pate. On May 3, 1947, she married Joseph Carroll "J.C." Inman who preceded her in death on September 15, 2005. She attended Giles County and Maury County schools and was a graduate of Columbia Central High School. She was a graduate of Martin Methodist College where she played basketball and tennis. In addition to her long-time position at Central High School, Mrs. Inman served as bookkeeper for Maury County Civil Defense and secretary for Riverside United Methodist Church where she was a member for many years. Survivors include three sons, Ron Inman, Sam Inman, and Tim Inman, all of Pulaski; a daughter, Mrs. Carol (Eddie) Daniels of Lynnville; eight grandchildren, Rob (Michelle) Orr, Melissa Counts, Bryce Inman, Amanda Inman, Breanna Inman, Samantha Inman, Alexandra Inman, April Osborne; and four great grandchildren, Alexis Orr, Hayden Burns, Logan Counts, and Leona Grace Osborne. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Fay Inman and a son, Bobby Wayne Inman. Pallbearers are Wayne Romesburg, Timmy Clark, Jerry Frasier, Tommy Stanfill, Jason Jones, Patrick Ryan, and Terry Potts. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Maury County Rural Fire Department and Maury County Civil Defense.
